Grand Gift Items For Our Grandparents

If you are lucky enough to have your grandparents still with you that is great. Families are connected through the matriarchs and patriarchs. They tell us stories of “the good ole days” and are a living legacy for our children. It would be a good idea to record their stories so that future generations can have a piece of the family history.

Some families record special family gatherings so that they can be viewed and enjoyed for years. It is amazing how fast time goes by and children grow up so quickly. You could give your grandparents a DVD recording of a family event and that would be a great gift that could be passed on. Of course, they still love receiving photographs but this would be almost as good as being there. You can see and hear everyone being themselves and enjoying everyone. A picture  may be worth a thousand words but with a video recording it can say much more.

Some grandparents are easy to buy for because they prefer certain items or take part in special events or hobbies. You could always give them something for their hobby or the same of their favorite item but in different colors. For example, if your grandfather loves shirts and one brand in particular, you could give him a different color and style for each occasion.

Grandmother may prefer one style of shoe and you could do the same for her. T-shirts are wonderful gifts for Father’s Day and Mother’s Day but don’t forget about Grandparent’s Day, #1 Grandpa or Grandma are some of the best gifts for grandparents and they can wear them over and over.

You could have a family photo or a picture of the grandchildren put on the front of the shirt with the family name or individual names. You could do the same with aprons, throws and coffee mugs. You can’t go wrong with anything that says “The Greatest or The Best Grandmother or Grandfather inscribed on it.

Some of the great gifts come from the grandchildren that they have made themselves at home or at school. No one loves to brag more than the grandparents about their little ones.  It is a wonderful way to show them that you took the time to care.
